Was this a good deal?

Today I'm handing in my old Macbook Pro 15" Penryn 2.4Ghz with 4Gbs ram, the Nvidia 8600m GT 256mb and a 750Gb 5400rpm HDD. I sold it in a place like ebay but exclusively for Guatemala and Central America.

What's a fair price for this machine?

I sold it for GTQ6,500 which is about US$840. It had 4 years of use and had its logic board changed once on warranty because of the faulty Nvidia chipset a couple of weeks ago. It has minor scratches, just regular use nothing extreme.

Sounds like you got a pretty good price to me, especially since that's a pre-unibody model.

That is a lot of money to receive for a four year old Apple laptop with no warranty left. I would say you came out better than pretty good.
