keep thinking about replacing my AW3 but hey it works, the lack of WOS 9 might be the swinger though. my golf app is getting slow too, and I love all the new faces.

local retailer does trade in prices on apple stuff and I was looking and was underwhelmed by the €20 for my iPad Air 2, €250 for my iPhone XS.

But AW 3, €110.....
I only paid €200 for it as I broke my first one and stupidly paid apple €200 for a replacement rather than buying an AW5.

Dont want to trade in now and wait for AW8 as I use my watch daily and especially for golf every week.

So is it likely better to grab the €110 now against a 7 or SE, or wait for the 8 to come out knowing the 7 and SE likely discounted but my trade in will likely be €20 then as the AW3 will be obsolete.

If timing is a major concern, I don’t see the point of waiting for series 8. Pick 7 or SE depending on how much feature you are ok to miss between SE and 7, and call it a day.

My SBSS AW4 stopped charging today, but taking the band off and just putting the watch on the puck seems to have fixed the issue and it is now charging.

As to the differences between the AW7 and AW8, I expect them to have the same design. The S8 SoC should hopefully be a new design on a 5nm process which would provide performance and battery life improvements over the 7nm SoC used in the S6/S7. The rumor mill also seems to believe the AW8 will add a body temperature sensor.
