over at appleinsider.com they reported that the washington post has even noticed the issues w/ the ipod touch

Meanwhile, several reviews of Apple's new iPod Touch appearing on Monday have taken issue with the display quality of the player's touch-screen. The Washington Post reports that a 16GB model purchased at the San Francisco Apple store exhibits an issue that translates into many dark scenes being "almost unwatchable."

anyone have access to washingtonpost.com where we can see what else they said?

Here's what they say (typos in original):

Unfortunately the 16GB unit I picked up at the San Francisco Apple store has adisplay problemthat makes many dark scenes almost unwatchable. Video looks reversed out in dark areas, creating a very distracting negative effect. Several other users have reported the same problem on Apple's forums, so I know I'm not alone, but other posters have mentioned that their displays work just fine. Perhaps this defect is confined to a small portion of Apple's initial iPod touch shipment and those of us experiencing the problem will be able to get replacements.

Here's a link to the story. Washington post has free registration if you don't see it.

dosent matter whose sort its just nice to know its being nationally recoignlized as a problem and apple is getting bad press about it , hopefully they will be quicker to fix it

hopefully the stocks will fall some as well.. that will put some fire in their arses

I doubt it'll have that much affect.. their share price is currently about what it was before they announced the deal with dtag (which caused a short spike).
