Watch 4 - latest update (always going on silent)

Apple watch 4 with the latest watchos. I never have my iphone with latest ios 12 on silent. However several times per day I find my watch with the red bell icon under the swipe up menu. I have my watch set to mirror my iphone (1`0s max). Any thoughts?

It might be possible that you are using Cover to Mute when you cover the watch for 3 seconds can put your watch on mute mode.

Watch app>Sounds & Haptics>Cover to Mute>Off
