Watch app > Music > constantly in "updating" mode with spinning gray wheel?!?

I have my AW3 on its charger and trying to sync music onto the watch, but when I go in the Watch app > Music > it's constantly in "updating" mode with spinning gray wheel. Any idea on how to fix this? Thanks for your help.

Tap the Watch face while it's still on the charger and put in the unlock code.
That seems to help.
