Just behind you
Hello,
i'm planning to get a cellular watch this month.
I'm in France, my phone carrier is Orange and I will activate the Orange Apple Watch option on it.

Now i'm going to travel to Africa next month.
I can set up an esim data plan from Ubigi, GoMoworld, Saily or other.
But what will happen to the watch data?
- Will the watch be connected abroad ?
- if so, what data is it gonna use ? If that international eSIM data provider is not compatible with the APple Watch, will the watch roam data from Orange in parallel ?
- Do I have to unpair my Orange data plan in the first place ?

Finally do you have any recommendation for eSIM data providers ?

Thank you

These are good questions to which I have no answer. I think the Watch will roam, and thus may incur charges. So when I travel abroad, I put my Watch in airplane mode. Everything still works when in range of my iPhone, which has the international eSIM.
