Hey all. I have an Apple Watch series 4. The last few days my Watch, while running normally all day long, when it reaches a low percentage it just shuts down.

Today for example, I checked my battery percentage at around 7pm and it was 43% (quite normal battery loss throughout the day). At 7.23pm (or at least that’s when I realized it) my watch died. I tried restarting it. It showed the Apple logo and after a few seconds died again showing that it needed charging. Once I put it to charge, it powered up and showed that it had 12% battery remaining. At no point throughout this process did I get a power reserve notification or anything. Now here is the game changer. I’ ve been running the latest WatchOS beta. Could this be a beta bug or should I feel worried about my battery?

It looks like a specific percentage seems to trigger this since if I charge it until 40% and then wear it again, after a few minutes it dies again while if I charge it fully and wear it, I have normal battery loss.

On your Watch got into Settings > Battery > Battery Health and see what your Battery Health is?

Unlink it from your watch and do a full reset without using a backup for restore - set it up as new. It is annoying, i know, but except your watchfaces and the settings of the watch itself, you wont lose anything.

Thanks for the tip!

Health data will not be lost right?

I think I will wait till the next beta just to make sure that the beta is not at fault here and then I will proceed to resetting it

unpair and re-pair, but when you re-pair you can restore the backup.
You won't loose anything, except for the hour or so that it's syncing.

A lot of times, re-pairing and using the backup will clear up problems, as it sorts out whatever is scrambled when it reloads.

If you still have the problem after that, you could try without the restore.

Restore from a recent backup never worked here, because that "recent" backup is still the one from 2017
Series 3. So I gave up the whole restore thing. You will not lose any health data.

... are you doing betas as you write? Then first forget about these experiments or just be aware, betas do have heavy errors sometimes.
