So I've been toying with the idea of springing for an Apple Watch 3. I haven't done a ton a research, but was in the store yesterday talking to an associate. My question to him was if my phone and watch are both connected to the same WiFi network, can I leave my phone on my desk, go to a meeting, and get notifications on my watch? He said no. I asked if, in the same scenario with both connected to a common network, can I be at the gym and stream music from my watch to my BT headphones without the need for my phone? Again, he said no. I thought those were main selling points of the watch. Am I misunderstanding it's use, or was this associate wrong?

With an S3 WiFi as long as it is connected to a known WiFi (don't even have to have your iPhone connected) you will get Notifications. An S3 Cellular will also get Notifications anywhere there is cell service.

You can use any :apple:Watch to listen to music at anytime and anywhere if it is downloaded to the watch.

Thanks. That's what I thought. Not sure how an apple associate assigned to the watch station didn't know this....
