I download movies from ITunes and usually just watch then on my Ipad. I have the standard type TV (not a flat screen). Is there a way to watch the Ipad movie on my TV. I also have a MacBook Pro and use cable internet connection. Thanks for any help.

An Apple TV will work as well. I use my iPad to connect to my Plex server, then I Airplay the movie from the iPad to the ATV. Cool thing about that, I can still use my iPad to do other things and the movie continues to play. My kids love it.

I wasn't sure if you can do this with an older TV set or is a newer technology set required.

Hmmm, good question. If there is an HDMI to RCA(?) adapter, it should work.

Ahh, I googled a little and there are some. (Blow me down with a feather.)

I'm sure you will not get HD but, it will play. (I assume with ATV.)

An option for iPad to RCA.... Although is shows only for iPad1/2...

I'll look a little more after I spin up these servers.

You didn't state whether you have a fourth gen iPad with the Lightning connector or a previous version.

Here's an Apple solution for 30-pin dock connector devices:

If you have a newer iPad, you can use the above in conjuction with this:

I realize there are cheaper devices that can be purchased elsewhere. Those two links are merely supplied as examples of what you would need.

Update: Picked up a Apple:apple: Composite AV Cable at my local Best Buy. Works perfectly for watching movies from the IPAD, can know adjust the volume louder from the TV remote.

No, read about Apple TV but decided to go with a simple cable. Its mainly for just watching movies on a larger screen. May be an idea at some point.
