When I saw the WATCH with the stainless steel band I could not believe my eyes. It was as if my old Casio Databank I had in 1985 or so had come back to life.
I became quite good at typing on it because I had small fingers back then of course. I put all my appointments in it (basketball, homework, chores, practice Nintendo Punch-Out in the arcade!)
It ran my life. It was great. I loved that little watch. Still have it, too.
And now with WATCH, I can manage my insane volume of texts. Just glance down. I feel bad when I'm out with friends and my phone is buzzing. I work for three startups and I get a lot of messages. Most can wait. Others from family or friends are more pressing.
But the killer app for me is the haptic feedback driven by GPS directions where it will tell you when to turn left or right WITHOUT looking. It has a certain tap pattern for left and right so I'm told? I ride my bike and drive a lot. Now I don't even need to take my eyes off the road. Just feel it.
This thing will change my life for the better, just like it did in 1984 when I was a little kid.
As I pulled the trigger on the Stainless Steel with link bracelet, I realized that the more things change, the more they stay the same.
