I'd like to setup Automations for Watch in iPhone's Shortcuts app.

Trouble is, wherever I search for "Watch" in the app, no mentions of the Apple Watch appear? So can't specify any actions.

Series 10 watch, iPhone 15ProMax - latest softwares at time of posting.

Any ideas?

False alarm. Figured it out.

First Automation: set morning, evening and night-time watch faces!

Might want to pay it forward and let others know what you did/didn't do.

Sure, good idea.

1) Automations, New Automation, Time of Day

(That bit went OK!)

2) On the following page I understood that I was looking for an ACTION. And so repeatedly searched for "watch" (search box at top of page). To no avail.

What I should have done was take the (greyed out!) "New Blank Automation" option further down the page. At which point searches on "Watch" work just fine!

FWIW am inexperienced using Automations (for want of use cases). My only attempt a couple of years ago - to toggle Mobile Network when arriving/leaving a certain address (where there's little/no reception) had failed because iOS wouldn't allow it. It does now, so have updated!

Have also found a couple of Automations (for watch) online that seem super useful. "Share Wifi by QR code" and "Share Contact by QR code". Yippee!!

Yup. That change came about in iOS 17 vs used to be able to "just do it" previously in an Automation.

Or you can code up a Shortcut and simply call it from the Automation. Automations will present all the Shortcuts in the app as options. Eg, here's some of my Watch Shortcuts to change faces.
