Curious if anyone knows if this is possible. I often have the screen of my phone on in the car for music or otherwise but will at times miss a message pop up. By default if your screen is unlocked your watch does not notify you of messages or email assuming you see it on the phone. Is there a way to tell your watch to push notifications even if your phone is unlocked and open?

You can turn off wrist detection and you will get notifications on the watch and iphone.

But you will lose (according to watch settings when turning it off):
Apple watch will not lock automatically, heart rate tracking and notifications will be turned off, blood oxygen background measurements will be turned off, sleep tracking will be unavailable, some activity measurements will be unavailable, noise measurements and notifications will be turned off.

Interesting. I wonder what the logic behind that is? Not for me as I use several of those settings. Thank you for your input.
