“If you were thinking of adding a new Apple Watch (or any other LTE-ready smartwatch with a dedicated phone number) to your Verizonaccount, you’ll probably like to hear that the carrier just cut the monthly cost of doing that by half. Normally $20, it now costs $10 per month for all plan types.”

Verge article.

that's better... might consider it next time now, i ordered a GPS S6 this year to tide me over to a S7 redesign... i always had the cell models since S3 before, but never hooked them up because $20 seems a bit too much for how much i'd use them... $10 is more reasonable. i'd like to see them offer it free on the big unlimited packages as a benefit but i suppose that is laughable...

The Verge article is incorrect. Verizon has been charging $10 per month for the Apple Watch since LTE became available.

What’s the total after taxes and fees etc?

Currently at mid $20’s after all said and done. Just have a pending promotion and device trade in pending then it will be around $17.

My niece had a Samsung watch on my account for a short time and her total was $22 including line access, taxes and device payment plan.

Thanks for the info.

If I’m reading it correctly, with an unlimited plan it comes out to $5 a month? If so I’m signing up Friday when the watch comes in. All these years with stainless and never have I added a plan to one lol

I have unlimited, it’s $10 a month plus taxes and device payment (if applicable).

The verge article is wrong. The line access fee is half off IF you have a certain tier of unlimited. Otherwise it’s $10.

Ehhh... that wasn't their argument. The author was mistakenly under the impression that it was still $20/mo for Apple Watch connection on Verizon, and that now it is $10.

I, too, thought it was still $20, since the last time I wanted to buy a cellular Apple Watch, it was $20.

You are 100% correct, though, that the connection fee is now $5/mo if you opt for Verizon's most expensive unlimited plan.

This seems like a fair thread to ask this question.

Is the taxes and fees on the Apple Watch service the same amount as the taxes and fees on your phone line? I'd assume so, but I was told differently.

That would likely vary by provider and country. Probably best to ask your specific provider details about their specific plan.

I'm asking people with Verizon Wireless, which I believe is U.S. only.

I asked Verizon, and they said taxes and fees would be lower on a smartwatch compared to a phone, but some of the posts on this thread has lead me to believe otherwise. For instance, I have $4.42 in taxes and fees added on to my smartphone lines. In the posts above, I'm seeing anywhere from $3-$4.85 extra, which is barely less to more money than what I pay for a smartphone in taxes and fees.

I can’t help with that, but with all of those additional details I’m sure someone can. Good luck.
