Watch OS 5 - noticeable slowdown on older Watches?

I'm yet to install the latest OS on my Nike series 3 (which I love) and I've been struggling to find a thread talking about possible post-update slowdowns for older Watches. Would anyone like to share their experiences or am I worrying over nothing? Thanks in advance

S3. Same as OS4 to be honest.

Before I upgraded to Series 4, my Series 1 performance and battery usage was at least as good on WatchOS 5.0 as it was on OS 4.

Before I upgraded to Series 4, my Series 1 performance and battery usage was at least as good on WatchOS 5.0 as it was on OS 4.

Same applies to my old Series 2. Can’t compare my new Series 3 since I bought it with OS 5 on it.

I also upgraded to Series 4 but I updated my Series 2 to OS 5 and found performance to similar-better than 4 and battery life was roughly the same. When I say better, I don't mean mind blowing better, just a little snappier. Some apps though were slow on 4, like workout and I believe others have mentioned timer. They were still slow, but maybe seemed a little bit faster on OS 5.
