I backed out of the update screen and when I went back in it started over at "preparing" then onto "verifying" again.....then stuck there again. I also noticed at some point the gear stopped spinning in the watch animation.

No issues because of 9.1. But there are a ton of downloads going on right now. My 9.1 took about 45 minutes total. My wife's is now going much slower but progressing. Just give it time. It's probably a better idea to wait until tomorrow but I know most won't want to do that.
