Will watch os3 be available for the original Apple Watch? Wasn't sure if it was just for the new watches series 1 and 2? I sure hope not

Wow. Amazing on how I did do a search and quite a few people mentioned it will be available on Series 1 and 2, I was just making sure it will be available on the original. So thats why I asked, Thanks to the few that responded kindly, the others......Well you know

I am on the West Coast and just checked for it and it's not showing up for me. Is the release staggered across time zones? Thanks!

It's usually mid-morning. Typically around 10am PT it starts to show up.
Pretty sure Apple also segments the availability...so their content network isn't destroyed by everyone in the world starting the download at 10am. :) SO, be patient if it doesn't show up right away. :)

Thanks. That makes sense. I was just hoping to download before my day started!

This is what I'll be doing -- waiting for either iTunes or the phone to tell me to download. It could take a few days, but that's OK.

You will need to update your phone first. Once that's done, you can go into the Watch app and you'll be able to see the new faces the updated layout of the app. In the Watch app on your phone, go to My Watch>General>Software Update and you can begin the watch update process. It takes a while, so figure out a time when you can keep your watch in the charger and your phone nearby for about 45 minutes or so... The download times may be longer over the next few days.

Is the update active for anyone? It was supposed to appear At 10:00 AM Cupertino time, but I don't have it yet.

One of the guys in the iOS10 thread pasted in the WatchOS3 update screen. Just give it time...heh...and I likely wouldn't hammer the Apple servers. You guys have upgraded to iOS10 already, right?

I was able to download iOS 10 in a few minutes, but it's telling me 5 hours until the WatchOS is done downloading to Watch.

can you install OS 3 if your phone is running OS 9.X / the latest OS9, or do you need to have iOS 10 installed. Dying to try the watch update... but i have never installed a day 1 release of a new iOS version and wait till the update came out. And seeing the issues i think i want to hold off too.

No. You need iOS 10.
