Watch os5/iOS 12 - cannot setup new watch series 3

just updated my iPhone to iOS 12 and went to install the new watch os beta.

The beta prompted me to reset the watch and set it up as new which is what I did. Now that the watch has been reset I can’t seem to set it up using the passcode or the orb design.

Anyone else had this problem"?

On my spare iPhone and Apple Watch, the betas installed just fine. Delete the profile on the phone and watch first. Then install the new profile on the phone and watch and then restart both. Install os 12 and then os 5. Worked perfectly.

i installed it just fine too. I only had to delete the ios 11 beta profile which is normal.

Given that I had to (I believe) do my watch to 4 only after my phone was on 11, I think it's a good chance the same might be true...

It should be backward compatible to an extent. So you dont need to worry too much.
