Watch screen doesn’t show when laying down and lifting hand?

So if I am stand and lift my hand to view watch data the watch automatically lights up.

However I’ve noticed if I’m laying down and lift my s4 watch to view time the face doesn’t light up.

Is this normal? Thanks!

Yes it’s normal. The accelerometer is thrown off when laying down sometimes and depending on the position your laying in. The easiest thing to do is to tap the screen when laying down.

It happens. If you first move your arm over your chest and then twist your wrist towards you it should come on just fine
