I left my watch in the the sun during a 90 degree day and it went into overheat mode and froze. The display only shows a red bolt and the time in the very top of the display. I can't seem to figure out how to restart it, I tried holding each button for several seconds, and both at the same time. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

If that doesn't work you just need to wait for it to cool down so don't charge it and if it still doesn't respond let it die and see what happens

OK thanks....I've had it sitting on the charger for several days now, since it froze, so it's definitely cooled down. I tried the restart and force restart - no workie. iPhone won't connect to it either, so I can't erase/reset settings.

I'll have to let it die and see what happens

Try putting it in the fridge for a short time? Never the freezer, but just a quick shock to the sensors and bringing the core tempratures of everything down, 10 minutes should be plenty. Especially any battery sensors that may perceieve an overheat.

Perhaps try the force restart then, and otherwise plug it back in again.

Failing that, I think it will be a contact Apple job. Best of luck!

Just to follow up on my issue.

I let the battery run completely dead. Surprisingly, it took nearly a month to drain down since it was only keeping time, whereas I would normally only get 1.5-2 days before it needing a charge.

BUT, it works again!!!! So thanks S-L, I was on the verge off tossing it. The complete drain did the trick!
