Watch Series 4 unlocking MacOS High Sierra for you guys?

Last year Series 3 wouldn't unlock my Macbook without being updated, which was impossible due to corporate policy. I had to return the watch.

Did Apple repeat themselves this year? Apple product support can't answer my question. It shouldn't be this difficult to find out if apple products work with apple products!

Tried Apple Watch series 4 on my macbook and it unlocked it fine. Just had to go into security settings to ensure I selected the watch to unlock it.

All the Apple Watches I've owned (inlcuding the current Series 4) works just fine with my Mac. I just get a prompt to turn it on.
