Watch TV from different states

Hi! Do any of you know how I can watch (and record) a live TV channel from North Carolina on my Mac? I reside in New York.

A reaaaaaaaallly long cable. Or have a friend in NC record it for you or have something like a SlingBox to stream it to you.

I have a slingbox... but it (obviously) only streams in content from New York. I've heard of a website where other people offer up their slingboxes for viewing, though...
