Hey guys, so I have cable TV in my house. I have a HDVR box in my living room connected to my TV. I have my iMac in my room and I would love to watch TV on it. Here´s the back of my HDVR box:

So my question is, if I buy another box, can I connect it to my iMac and watch HD TV? Thanks in advance.

EyeTV won't allow you to control the DVR.

Your main options are Slingbox and Volkano. Those also allow you to watch programming from your DVR anywhere in the world you can get a good WiFi signal. You can also watch on your iPad, iPod Touch, iPhone or Android phone.

Thanks for the reply, but those are way too pricy. I found that you can connect a DVR to a mac using firewire. I'll ask my cable provider for a firewire capable box.
