Took in the WATCH Ultra last Thursday and it still says "Service requested" with no estimate time for repair or return. Anyone have an estimated time from their experience for how long it should take?

So you brought it into the store I assume.
I think they will ship it to their depot for assessment and determining next steps. Maybe it got there Friday, maybe it’s still in transit and given that’s Memorial Day tomorrow, I’m guessing Tue or Wed until you get an update.
Also I assume you do not have AC+, you’d have gotten express replacement with that.

Don't have AC+, did get back Ultra last Thursday, got a replacement vice a fix (has a new serial number) and had a heck of a time pairing it up to my iPhone 14+.
After about ½ hour of frustration, contacted Apple support through chat and trouble shot for another 20 minutes with no success. Then it dawned on me that the problem could be the WATCH 6 I was currently wearing that prevented the Ultra from pairing. 🤔
Took off the WATCH 6, then the Ultra was able to pair. 😃

You would think that the Apple Support person would have asked if you were wearing an Apple Watch. It cannot be such a rare situation.

for future, on watches, they almost always will do a swap out over a repalr

For the fastest replacement, If you've got room on your credit card, there's an option where they place a hold for the full amount of a watch on your card, and ship you a replacement watch, when you get that watch, you ship your broken one back in that box, and once they receive it, they'll remove the hold.
Not sure if that requires Apple Care or not

otherwise you have to wait for the box to ship to you, then your watch to make it to them and be verified, and then the replacement watch to be shipped back.

depending on how the weekends hit, it could be a couple days compared to a week and half or so for the different methods

Did they say what was wrong with your original Ultra?
they probably never will.

Nope, they never did say what was wrong with the original Ultra; it just wouldn't charge.
I'm only 20 minutes away from the Apple Store, so I just made an appointment and took the faulty Ultra there and got a new one by FedEx one week later. I wore may WATCH 6 in the meantime.
