iPhone SE with iOS 17.1 and a Series 7 with watchOS 10.0.1 (21R360)

Just like the title says, I can receive texts just fine, but tapback, typed, or Siri replies (or new messages) will not send. Tapback replies appear as green rather than blue, but still nothing actually is sent. This wasn't a problem on my Series 5 until yesterday. I wear the 7 during the day, 5 to sleep but I wore 5 out last night because I knew messages wasn't working properly on my 7, but then it broke on the 5 as well. I just tried sending with Siri and it may eventually work, the watch thinks it sent, but it hasn't shown on my phone or Mac.

Things I've tried:
Closing messages
Unpairing the watch and re-pairing
Checking for watchOS and iOS updates
Searching the forums (saw one post in the beta thread on it and unpairing and repairing fixed theirs)

Update: I can reply to android users from the watch.

Update NOT Fixed - put it on charge last night and it’s back to not working this morning.

Original reply: Fixed - Fixed it by going to the watch app on the phone -> the watch -> general -> reset -> erase apple watch content and settings. Then I set it up as new (same thing I thought I did when I unpaired and re-paired). Once it got all sync'd back up with my phone we are good to go, can reply to messages again.
