i have a series 2 Watch with WatchOS 4 and it never gives a reading for resting heart rate. Does anyone know why that would be? Do I have something set wrong? Thanks.

I have a Series 0 (first gen Watch) with the same issue. Trying to determine if this feature is limited to certain models or if there is a glitch across all models. You’re issue is giving me hope that it’s the latter. That makes sense, too, as Apple typically does not simply “grey out” unavailable features for a given device; they simply don’t appear.

Restricted to S3 models only I believe however some S2 users have reported seeing this whilst others haven’t.

I have S0 device and one of the reasons for my upgrade is to get the advanced HR functions that are only available with S3 such as RHR, Recovery rate etc.

I’m surprised I can still see the spot for it on Watch OS 4 if my watch doesn’t support it. I’d think it simply wouldn’t be there.

Edit. Well damn. I just looked at my watch and the heart app and it’s had a number on the resting heart rate now!

What series Watch do you have?

EDIT: Nevermind. I see from your original post that you have a Series 2.

For those saying this feature is limited, please provide a link.

I see Resting HR on my Series 2 in the HR app under watchOS 4. It was not in the beta, but is in the GM.

Right now, it shows Current HR, Resting HR, Average Walking HR, the HR from today's run, and the HR recovery after today's run. The data is a series of vertically-scrolling tabs on a summary screen or if you tap on one of the tabs you zoom in to a scrolling list of charts with the same data.

These are the zoomed-in screens for resting HR and HR recovery.

I have a Series 0 and am not getting a resting heart rate. Has anyone been able to confirm whether this is a feature only available to the Series 3?

S0. I can see recovery heart rate on the watch itself but when delving into the Health app, no resting heart rate OR walking heart rate. I guess it is limited. Ah well, I plan on getting an S3 Nike + soon once they are released.
