This applies to anyone in the US who utilized Apple's 18 month interest free option through Barclay Card to buy their nMP.

The 18 month interest free option is good on purchases of $1500+ (which any config of the nMP would qualify for) made within the first 30 days of opening the account.

The issue arises when you buy your nMP through the Apple website and it takes over 30 days for Apple to process and ship the order, your credit card is charged outside of the 30 days window. In my case I ordered my nMP on December 20th but it wasn't shipped until February 24th. The result, as I found out today, is that unless you pay for the entire purchase in your first billing cycle, your second statement will include a healthy chunk of interest...in my case over $100 in this month alone.

Barclay Card was very accommodating and could see the issue right away. They're removing the interest charge, creating a case and working to get the 18 month interest free option applied and honor the terms as none of this was my fault.

So, for anyone utilizing the interest free financing through Barclay Card, keep an eye on the interest line of second statement and if it's charged, give them a call immediately.
