Watching an ogm on the iPad

Hey.
I've got a couple of OGM's I'd like to watch while on vacation.

On OS X I can select the language in the "Audio" menu and chose to display the subtitles in the "Video" menu.

Unfortunately there's no such option on the mobie VLC (my iPad is jailbroken).

Do you know of an easy option that doesn't require reencoding the files?

I wonder if Handbrake could convert OGM to something like MP4 or AVI? I can't confirm this though.
