Apple has a 10% discount on accesories, including the Elgato receiver. The final price at the Apple store is $134 usd plus tax.
I feel quite interested for this product. However, before purchasing it, i would like to ask you a few a few questions about it:
1) Is there any other receiver (that you may know of), besides the Elgato receiver and whose quality may be better, or its price cheaper?
2) I understand that the receiver comes with its own software. I wonder if this software only allows me to watch tv on my ibook or if this software will also allow me to record tv programs?
3) If elgato software´s package does not allow me to record tv programs, what software will i need to use and how expensive is it, (in case it may be a free software, where do i download it from)?
4) What is Video CD setting?
4) As i read, if this receiver is restricted to (please see below):
G4 or G5 processor (Recording features require G4 (Video CD setting), dual G4 or G5 (Standard quality setting) or dual G5 (High quality setting) processors)
can i use my ibook G4 with it?
