I can see my drive. DVD images ripped using Mac The Ripper. I can see the various video files in VIDEO_TS for each DVD, but I think XBMC/Boxee on the AppleTV allows one to watch this like a DVD (with the controls available when watching the DVD itself in a DVD player). Is that right?

Can anybody give me a step by step on how to do this?

I think you need to set XBMC/Boxee into Library mode and the it will play the video_ts folder directly; without Library mode it shows you the video_ts folder structure and not only the top level folder. but with Library mode it shows just the top level video_ts folder. That is how I remember doing it on my Xbox anyway. However I think that there may be known issues right now with Boxee and video_ts folders.

EDIT: BTW, I prefer viewing it as a dvd with the menus and extras. I can't understand why everybody seems to be so enamored of encoding only the main feature (except for the obvious space savings). The video quality usually suffers, ff/rew doesn't work nearly as well, and a host of other problems.
