Watching Video

I am going to Germany on a plane next week and I would like to watch some videos(non-HD) on the plane. And I was wondering of using the DVD drive or watching movies that are on your hard drive use more power.
Sorry if what I writ was not clear.

I think using DVD drive uses more power than the HD, best advice is to rip movies to a flash drive and watch them from it.

DVD drive draws more power, IMHO.
