Watching videos is decreasing system memory???

i once watched some videos which were about 100 MB in size. when i checked the activity monitor the system memory has decreased by 100 MB aswell.
as i continued to watch videos the system memory also continued to decrease.

i wanted to know if this is normal and if it is how can i get back the system memory as it doesnt go back up in its own?
i am happy for any help

Well it depends what programs your running in the background and stuff like that. But I wouldnt worry about it unless your getting down to less than 50mb of memory. When your using programs and such memory is naturally going to bounce around a little bit.
