Ok just a quick question I thought by watching widescreen movies on a widescreen monitor it would illeminate thos black bars at the top and bottom of the screen, but i still get when i tried watching a widescreen movie on it.

I have a new apple 20" and thought it would not have those black bars for widescreen dvds. Is there some setting i must adjust or is this something i can't fix? Help please

Most widescreen movies aren't 16:9 (which is the ratio wide screen TV's, and I *think* wide LCD monitors use). Movies tend to be letter box which is even "wider" than 16:9 so you will still get the black lines, just not as much as if you were watching on a 4:3 screen.

edit: 2.35:1 is what most widescreen titles seem to be released in.

Also, its worth noting that Apple's 20 displays aspect ratio is not as wide as 16:9. It is more like 16:10.

I only said *think* as I wasn't sure. But anyway, they're still not 2.35:1, which is why you get the black lines :)
