iOS Watchkit app...do i need iphone app also?

I am developing watchkit app that will run only on apple watch. All the logic will run on the apple watch. My question is...can i leave iphone side of the app blank and submit app to apple? Documentation on this matter is hard to find.
 
I got info. It looks like your iPhone app can contain only instructions how to use watch app and that is it. But it cannot be just white background. It must have at least some info on it.
