In watchOS 11.2, Apple has added a useful new feature that's designed to allow you to pause video that you're recording on the iPhone using the Camera Remote app on the Apple Watch.

The Camera Remote app has been available since the Apple Watch initially launched, and while there was an option to start and stop video recording, there wasn't an option to pause video and restart it. When a video recording is in progress, there is now a pause button on the left side of the Camera Remote interface. Tapping it pauses a video, and then tapping the red record button restarts the video.

Apple initially added a feature for pausing video recordings with the iPhone Camera app in iOS 18, and the watchOS 11.2 update expands that same functionality to the Apple Watch's Camera Remote app.

Other new additions in watchOS 11.2 include expanded support for tidal conditions and coastal locations in the Tides app in China. watchOS 11.2 will see a release alongside iOS 18.2 next Monday.

It would just be nice if when I opened the camera remote on my watch it would actually display what the camera sees instead of just a black screen.

I use the camera control on my watch occasionally. This is a very useful addition. Ability to pause video recording is a very nice feature addition in iOS 18. Glad that it is now available through watch also.

Is it possible to use DJI Mimo Action Pro 5 using Apple Watch as Remote? Though it allows the Apple Watch to have the App, it says it can’t operate from Watch! That was funny!

Mine doesn't, without closing and opening the app a few times. That's with the camera on the phone open!
Your watch can be buggy then, make sure to update it and your iPhone also... Personally I really like the dji mimo app on watch with the dji osmo mobile 6 !

It's only with the dji osmo mobile !

They really need to change the UI for that feature on the phone and watch. The record with stop button looks confusing at first glance, and having the record button move to the side is so weird. Countless times i've stopped a video by mistake thinking it was the record button.
