WatchOS 11.4 no sound with AirPods (Pro) in LTE only mode

Since updating to WatchOS 11.4 I can no longer use my AirPods Pro 2 to make calls while away from the iPhone. I cannot hear the caller and the caller cannot hear me. I need to switch to speaker mode on the watch to do the call. Anyone else with this problem? AW S10.
