WATCHOS 4.2 Beta Crashing

I install WATCHOS 4.2 beta on my Series 1 last night. A couple of minutes after the watch boots and gets a watch face, it crashes with the APPLE icon. It eventually comes back, not to where I need to enter my watch pass code, but back to the watch face. then crashes again. this runs the battery all the way down quickly. Any idea what is causing this and how do I fix, short of waiting for another beta?
