Hi,

So I upgraded yesterday to iOS 13.1.2 (iPhone 8+) and watchOS 6.0.1 (series 4). Mail on the phone is set to send me notifications only for VIP contacts, and the Watch is set to mirror the phone notifications. It was working well until the updates.

Mail on the phone is still behaving normally, but for some reason now Mail on the watch consider every new email as sent by a VIP contact and thus gives me notifications for it. It also doesn't sync properly with the phone as those emails stay as unread on the watch even though they are read and deleted on the phone.

Anyone else experienced similar issues? I rebooted both devices and deleted manually every of those "fake" VIP emails on the watch and will see if it happens again for future emails...

Having also email issues on my Watch since updating to watchOS 6.0.1
Watch does not show my exchange mail anymore, even though it is supposed to mirror my iPhone (iOS 13.1.2).
Also gmail works fine on the watch, except that the mail settings app tells me to authorize the account again, which fails when I do this.

My issue went away after rebooting both devices and removing the "fake" VIP emails from the watch. Since then, every email that came into my inbox (iCloud, forgot to mention it before) was perfectly fine and synchronized with the phone. No more weird VIP tags everywhere.

I know it doesn't solve your issue, but have you tried the Outlook app? It's very good on the iPhone (on Mac as well imho) and has a dedicated watch app. I use it for my professional email account since a few months and I don't think I will ever go back to using Exchange with the Mail app.

Thanks a lot for pointing me to the VIP mails on the watch! Removing the VIP folder from the mail app on the watch solved the issue for me. Immediately after removing the VIP folder on my watch my exchange email showed up on my watch again (without a reboot).
Will save your advice with the Outlook app for the next watchOS update ;-)

Hum, so it seems that the VIP emails may cause some different kind of bugs on the watch.
Good that your problem went away.
