Hello All!

I tried searching but couldn't find anything. After using my S5 for a couple days, I noticed that something has changed with how the Digital Crown works for switching apps. I'm not sure if its a S5 thing or a watchOS 6, but I wanted to confirm what I am experiencing.

Previously, on my S3/watchOS 5, when I would be running a workout, a double click of the crown would take me back to the watch face/clock screen. Another double click would take me back to workout. On my S5/watchOS 6, a double click shuffles between workout and the previous app that I had used.

I have tried "opening" the watch face/clock screen and then going back to workout to try to force it to be the "second" app open so it would switch between those two, but to no avail.

Can anyone else confirm that this has changed, or am I experiencing a bug.

Thank you!

This is always the case (mine was S3 & watchOS 5 too). If your last used app is watch face then double click will get you to watch face. If not then all you need to do is just a simple one clicking on the crown will bring you back to watch face. Double click always shuffle between previous last used app since watchOS 3.

Thanks for responding. I know that double clicking shuffles between the last two previous apps, but the issue that I'm now experiencing is that it no longer considers the watch face as an app. I didn't have this issue with my S3 on watchOS 5. It appears, as you suggested, that I have to single click when in workout to return to watch face instead of the double that I'm use to. I just have to retrain myself. Not sure why it's behaving differently now.

I've been using an Apple Watch since the S0 release day, so that's why I resorted to posting here - I'm stumped.

It has always worked like that on my s4. Just single click the crown to get to the watch face.
