Anyone notice a severe battery drain with watchOS 9.1? I have to charge 2 times a day to make it thru the night.

Trying to figure out the drain caused by apps or beta. I have water tracker and carrot installed only, along with a few playlists that I don’t play currently.

9.1 would be a beta, correct? I have a Series 4 on WatchOS 9.0 and the battery life has suddenly become abysmal. Until last week I could go through the day without charging end up with around 45%-50% at bedtime when I put it on the charger. Since I installed 9.0, I too have to charge it at least once during the day.

Yes 9.1 is beta (which I’m running). Now I’m down to charging once a day too. To bad we don’t have a battery usage like the iPhone on the watch.

I have to say that, as I noted above, my battery life (S4) was absolutely abysmal on 9.0. But taking a suggestion from someone here, I force restarted the watch yesterday morning and my battery life has actually been back to normal for the past two days. It was at 100% at about 8:30 AM this morning and a little over 50% when I just put it on the charger now 12 hours later – and that included all of my normal activities along with two 45 minute workouts.

I’m noticing big battery drain on 9.1 here in November now. Charged a four-month old new watch to 100% and it was down to 88% five hours later—when I wasn’t even wearing it. I was wearing a different watch. So it burned 12% charge in pure standby. Annoying yes, but also noteworthy because all of my watches have been showing increased battery drain recently. Anybody else?

Sure, but there might be battery calibration since the last OS it was using, and it might be doing background updates post install. I’d give it 24 hours and try again. Actually I’d give it 10 minutes and try again, but if that doesn’t work 24 hours. Charge it to full and let it idle - check the battery after five hours. It’s a super easy test.

Cool…and what am I checking for when I do that?

Charge the watch and leave it for five hours, then check it. Just like you did before when it dropped to 88%. Repeat the process and see if you have the same result. Just ensure you verify that it is fully charged to 100%

Have inconsistent battery drain on my S7. Sometimes 2% per hour, sometimes 6%.
Today I had 6% again without doing something special and remembered that I checked weather earlier on my AW. After forcequitting the weather app, battery drain is back to normal.
