I got my new Apple Watch 8 today. Got it all set up, then at 90% battery I opened the Apple Music app and started picking playlists to download, then waited, and waited. Made sure it was on Wi-Fi, even tried rebooting it. Nothing.

An hour later, I toss it on the charger, instantly began downloading music.

Has anyone gotten music downloading to work while off the charger? It was a new feature bullet point in watchOS 9.1 but I just can’t get it to work at all.

Maybe they only mean Apple Music, rather than iTunes library music sync to Apple Watch.

I have never used iTunes. Only Apple Music.
Uh, then idk whats going on. Maybe you just let your music download while on charger. Apple has been traditionally hating to explain how their stuff work properly if customer gets too deep.

Lol true! Apple just let its users think on their own instead of providing a valid explanation.
