On Watch OS 9, when I hold the power button, a comically large SOS Emergency Call icon appears on the bottom half of the screen. But to power the device off, the icon on the top right is very, very small. imgur link I have the SOS feature off in settings for a reason but I still see this prompt while trying to power my watch off.

Does anyone know how I can get rid of this prompt?

I have this same issue. POS Apple after upgrading to iOS9. My Watch 7 when pushing the bottom right button triggers the SOS Emergency. It accidentally called 911 and I told them it's messed up. And I find the notification coming in doesn't show the details. It stalls. They messed up the interface royally.

I almost accidentally called 911 as well because of the SOS emergency being where the power slide was and the power button being hidden now. The extra step to power the watch off is stupid

Dumb axx who changed the interface. Why would the SOS emergency be triggered when you push and hold the shutoff button? Must be some high school drop out that programmed it.

Also broke my golden rule. Wait a few weeks before upgrading to a new version of anything.

What really bothers me is that I have SOS turned off in settings. As in, I don't need this feature so I've gone the extra step in turning it off. Yet it's still there and somehow MORE prominent than the Off button. Just stupid.

The underlying problem is that Apple is not doing a good job with providing long term support and fixing bugs. They're just pushing out new redesigns to keep products from looking 'stale.' For example, I absolutely hate that we keep getting new macOS versions every few year instead of using fixing bugs on old ones. Do you know what that's like for someone who codes and has a dev environment set up? How pathetic is it that Microsoft has better LT support on computers.

I've called 911 twice this week because my muscle memory for turning off my watch has remained the same, but they changed they damn location of the power off button. This is seriously horrible design.
