Today has been a bad day. At work today we had a leak and my phone ended up sat in water without me realising.

There is a bit of water in the top right of the screen, as you can see below.

Not very noticeable in this image
But, there is also water/condensation in the camera lens, as you can see below also.

Whenever I open the camera is just shows the shutter, what can I do?!

Ouch, claim on insurance or take it to Apple and pay £9,000,000 for a replacement (don't quote me on that price)

:apple: iPhone 5 32GB White, iPad 3 16GB Black, iPod Video 5.5G 120GB, Shure SE425's, Dell XPS 13 UB :apple:

Alright thanks, hoping my insurance covers it if I can't get it working.

Im not sure what provider you have, but some give "refurbished" phones as replacement insurance phones. Also if you can make sure that all of the water damage indicators are still white, i would just take it to an apple store and theyll give you a new one. no questions asked.

Why do that to a company that has employees that go out of their way to be kind to customers? Honesty is the best route...I've heard many stories of geniuses replacing phones regardless of reason (whether it's water damage, dropped, etc) without cost.

Well I've left the phone in rice overnight and I'm gonna leave it there until I come back from work, if there's still no luck I'm going to phone the insurance company, if that fails I'll go into the Apple Store.

I took it out of the rice after 24 hours and all seemed fine but the camera has stopped working again. Taking it to the Apple Store today.
