My iPhone got water damaged, it works perfectly. Except for the screen... the display works and so does the touchscreen. The only problem is that I see some water blobs everytime my screen is on. I found an image on google, this is similar to what my iPhone looks like http://3gvs4g.org/wp-content/uploads...ter-Damage.jpg how do I fix this without opening the iPhone?

You could either use this as a home screen wallpaper. Or return to apple and test your luck at getting a free replacement or paying $200 for a new/refurbished iPhone 4s if that's what you have. If water is inside you are going to encounter more problems sooner or later...:D

A rep told me this trick
Grab a sandwich size ziploc
Turn ur phone off and put it inside.(sideways)
Fill bag with rice till covers all of the phone
Let it set for a day or so if u can wait. If not then overnight if ur impatient and see if it works
It did for me

Will they replace an iPhone for water damage?

Only if u bought insurance (AppleCare + or thru ur phone company)
Apple only replaces malfunctions of their faults, but if they can't tell if there's any water damages (in the screen and what not) then they might actually for like a shipping cost.

Rice is good. Also try a ziplock bag with a damp rid packet and the phone inside. Either way water is in it and it is only a matter of time before you have all kinds of issues. I had a 3gs get wet and it never worked the same again.

The rice trick usually works if you put it in right after it happens but op didn't do that.

My gf dropped her phone into the toilet and got a free replacement. Apple usually replaces the 1st for free no matter what. All I said was that the toilet>iPhone.

Of course it's all depends on how you present your case and if you're friendly...

Apple will usually fix your phone for free with or with out warenty. Yust take your phone to the apple store

You might get lucky but cant always count that you will get a helpfull rep that's willing to bend the rules for you.
If its water damaged and the moist sensors tripped then they will have to charge the out of warranty replacement fee if you want it replaced.

I'm quite sure the indicator is white. The went through my LCD (around the corners). Then it entered the inside of the digitizer (I'm quite sure). I am trying out the rice trick, it works better (touch way more responsive) but I still see the water in my screen.

Hey if it doesn't work well with the rice trick after a week or so, wouldn't help but going into an apple store (hopefully if there not more than 15-20 mins away) or call apple to state the case (water>iPhone).
But hopefully it still works, mines still working actually but gave it to my friend who still is stoke about it (jb 3gs).
Suggestion tho, the longer u leave it in (bag of rice) the better

One of them is tripped that's almost a guaranty if you phone got wet. There are 2 visible remember so chances of it getting wet and NOT tripping one of them are pretty slim.

Let me add to wrap the iPhone up in paper towel before surrounding it with rice. Rice is a pain to get out of areas it should no be in. :)

Lol I know what u mean
Before my 4s I had a droid "1" and dropped it in a cup
But with droids and such I removed the battery and cover and rice was every inside that phone lmao

Thanks, once again thing are working even better. But I still see the blobs of water in my screen.
Glad to help, and hopefully in the long run that blob dries up
