Water on keyboard, MacBook making noise

I spilt a bit of water on my MacBook, and now a loud noise is coming out of the MacBook, getting louder then stopping. I think it's the fan sputtering and then cutting out and starting again. Any ideas?

When spilling a significant amount of water on your laptop you should cut it off immediately and let it dry completely.
