my son spilled a couple ounces of water on our 2015 mba. We immediately turned it off and dried it off. Tried to fire it up but nothing at all. When I plug in the MagSafe charger I get no lights on the charger plug and no response from the computer.

Took it to a guy and he did the isopropyl ans ultrasonic clean to no avail and offered to send it out to replace the logic board for like 500$ or offered to copy our hard drive for like 210. Both are stupid prices. I was gonna replace the logic board myself, I’ve done hard drive replacements in other MacBooks so I’m ok with the process. Aside from the logic board should anything else be replaced when I’m In there based on it being dead. I’m picking it up tomorrow and will try to get some more info from the repair guy. Thanks for any direction.

When you get it back, I suggest removing the logic board and cleaning it again with pure isopropyl alcohol in case the person missed an area.

When you put it back together, connect everything except the battery, backlight, or trackpad cable. Connect the charger and see if it powers on by itself.

Used early 2015 logic boards on eBay are pretty expensive. I was looking for a replacement board too and found a used 2014 board for $280 CAD.

I would also replace the I/O board (where the power adapter connects to the laptop). If the battery is original then I would probably do that while you're doing everything else. The display from my experience repairing liquid spill MBAs should be okay...

Tip~If the macbook does not power on, use a small flat head screwdriver and tap 2 points near onthe logic board atop the keyboard ribbon for 3 seconds until you hear the chime or see the fan move.
Hope this helps
