I bought the new iPhone this two days ago and fell asleep with it in my pocket. I woke up to a wet bed and obviously was shocked. I tend to worry about my new electronics and having just gotten this phone has me worried! I know it is IP68 rated and When I woke up it wasn’t soaked or anything and works just fine but I’m worried about if anything could corrode it or if any got inside...

Is there a way that I can ease my concern? The main reason why I was worried was because when I went to take my case off that night there was a tiny bit of moisture between the car magnet I have in between the case and phone...

thankfully I have AppleCare+

If everything's working as it should, you should be fine. Think of it as if you got caught in a rain storm, the outside may get wet, but should be okay.

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking. I’d just like to know that nothing else happened! Could it affect the ports or buttons? Or the speakers? Any way I can tell that I am fine besides the fact that everything works perfectly?

You’ll know if it stops working. If this is a common occurrence for you maybe you should leave your phone on a nightstand when you sleep

Yeah I always leave it on my nightstand. I just fell asleep after taking some melatonin and a lot of water...

With a brand new phone is there any way that it could have leaked in? Again, it was not a ton, but I slept through the night. I feel like the phone would have issues already if that were the case?

Should be fine don’t worry. It is not that you submerged your phone at a depth of 4 meters in your bed. The sealing should take care of any moisture.
Thanks. I just worry about the type of liquid. Lol. This all makes me feel better. I didn’t think anything could’ve happened but like I said, I tend to over worry. Won’t be taking any sleeping aids for awhile...

If it can handle 4 meters for 30 min under water, what you put it through is minor
Thanks yeah, that’s what I was thinking. I just worry because of the type of liquid. But my phone wasn’t even close to soaked or anything. My pants were damp and a little moisture on my magnet between my phone and case which is why I got worried.

Urine is sterile so I wouldn’t worry about it. Wipe it with isopropyl alcohol if your worried

I did! I was mainly worried about any getting into the phone or affecting the speakers/charger port. No issues with speakers or charging though.

The good news is, you will remember that night forever or as long as your phone continues to work, every phone call, you will remember.
