Watermark in Word 2008 is not printing

I have a client who has put a watermark into her document and it appears on the screen and in the print preview, but it does not appear on the paper when she prints. She took the same document to a different Mac running Word 2004 and it worked fine.

Any ideas on what I should have her look for? I do not yet have a copy of office 2008 so I cannot see what options she has.

I am not able to get a copy of the file to use. Any suggestions on settings that might affect the printing of a Watermark?

Let's start off with some troubleshooting.

Create a new document in Word. Put a couple of lines of text on the page. Insert the watermark. Does it print properly?

Is the document saved as a .doc, .docx, or something else?
