WAV meta data import to itunes?

I see lot of earlier discussions on similar topic.

Is there any way to import WAV files into itunes along with meta data? I can see all meta data in VLC including album art, however it's not seen when I import them into itunes.

Any tips?

Convert them to Apple Lossless.

Problem solved by converting all my WAV files into AIFF by freeware Max. I can do this conversion using iTunes, but doesn't include metadata, but the little program Max does excellent job and it's very fast.
