Wondering if there is any programs that are especially good for cleaning up a my MBP and making it run more efficiently as well as any other good media programs or cool freeware that are nice to have. I have been to the apple.com and am just looking for some downloadable upgrades

Such as? There is no disk defrag for mac os. Empty your trash from time to time.

A restart every so often never hurts either. :)

I find CleanMyMac to be very effective. It has helped my machine a lot in the last couple of weeks. Specially good if you have an SSD where space is precious, as it cleans up a lot of your disk space by removing unwanted languages, universal binaries etc.

Its not free though, but well worth the money.
