The worst part of the 3 UK iphone plans, for me anyway, is the international data roaming charge of £7.05 per MB (that's almost $15 for our US friends...). I want the iphone benefits (visual voicemail, etc) but don't want to be tied to the stupid iphone plans.

Will the following work? Put a legal, unlocked iphone from tmobile in germany, on o2 but add it to my business plan thereby getting a much better tariffs? E.g., £20 for unlimited international data.... Since the phone would be on o2, should be able to get visual voicemail??? And since it is a legal unlocked phone, all updates, warranty, etc. should be intact?? Only thing you would miss by not being on the o2 iphone plan is free wifi, but it might be a good trade off. And of course paying an extra £400 -- which could be a low monthly bill if forced to take the iphone plans.

Of course, I could just put it on vodafone or orange, but then you miss out on some features unique to o2.
